I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16)
Father, we ask for a new day of Pentecost, and further we ask that it take place at the General Convention so that all those promoting the lust of the flesh would be cut to the heart and be enabled to walk in your Spirit.
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. (Galatians 5:17)
Jesus, please raise up anointed witnesses who can make this choice plain to all the bishops and deputations at the General Convention.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Galatians 5:18)
Holy Spirit, please make it plain to those at the General Convention that true freedom comes from you and not from fulfilling the lusts of the flesh.
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)
Lord, have mercy on your church, for we are being told that some of these very things are a fresh move of your Spirit.
Holy Spirit of truth, show these lies that are being old your people for what they are.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
Father, so bless our bishops and deputation and all other faithful bishops and deputations that they show forth openly the fruit of your Spirit.
Holy Spirit of truth, come upon those faithful deputations and bishops with your full Pentecostal power so that they become effective witnesses as Peter was at the birth of your church.
And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. (Galatians 5:24)
Jesus, give everyone there a heart's desire to crucify the flesh with its passions and desires. Bring them into the full freedom of your Spirit.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (Galatians 5:25)
Holy Spirit, your word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, help us walk in your light; help all you faithful people at the General Convention walk in your light.
Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. (Galatians 5:26)
Holy Spirit of love, move in the hearts of those assembled in Columbus so that they find your peace and joy. Thank you.
