11/28/2006, #69, 4th Quarter 2006

Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. (Psalm 125:1)

LORD, help us place our whole trust in you so that we may stand fast and not be moved.

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people from this time forth and forever. (Psalm 125:2)

Jesus, you are our good shepherd and guide; please surround us with your arms of love.

For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, lest the righteous reach out their hands to iniquity. (Psalm 125:3)

Holy Spirit, protect us from deception by those whose gospel is power and property and not the blood of Jesus shed for our sins.

Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts. (Psalm 125:4)

Father, please purify our hearts with the cleansing fire of your Holy Spirit.

As for such as turn aside to their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them away with the workers of iniquity. (Psalm 125:5a)

Jesus, please save all who have a heart to repent. Don't let your little ones be led astray to crooked ways.

Peace be upon Israel! (Psalm 125:5b)

LORD, please let your peace come to your people in these troubled times in the church.

***** Cry out to the Lord for His Church and for this Diocese.

Keep praying for our Bishops for protection, strength, wisdom and clear guidance in what they say and do. Pray for the Lord to protect them from any traps set for them and that no weapon formed against them will prosper.

Pray for the Standing Committee and all the committees and staff of the Diocese and the Spiritual Life Center.

Pray for the healing ministry to prosper and grow throughout the Diocese.

Pray for a time of repentance that comes from God during this advent. Pray for the conversion of church leaders who are preaching another gospel. Pray for a Damascus Road experience for Presiding Bishop Katherine Jefferts-Schori and the other leaders of the Episcopal Church.

Pray for God's protection, provision and clear guidance for Christ's Church, its clergy, leaders and people. Pray that God will accomplish His purposes in and through us.
