4/11/2007, #14, 2nd Quarter 2007

"I am the true vine, and my father is the vinedresser." (John 15:1)
Father, please help your faithful people continue to abide in Jesus.

"Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away; and every branch that bears fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit." (John 15:2)
Father, please cut off the unfruitful parts of my life -- help me let go of them; please prune the fruitful parts of my life so that they can bear more fruit for you.

"You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you." (John 15:3)
Jesus, thank you for the cleansing fire of your word. Help us abide in it and see by its light.

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me." (John 15:4)
Lord, branches of the vine are falling away from as we speak, help your faithful people abide in you.

"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without me you can do nothing." (John 15:5)
Jesus, the leaders of the Episcopal Church are trying to do ministry without you. Please help them repent; and help us repent whenever we rush off on our own.

"If anyone does not abide in me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned." (John 15:6)
Holy Spirit, a terrible fire is coming to the Episcopal Church, in your mercy let the fire of your love burn in every withered heart that can be re-kindled so that they may be grafted back into the vine.

"If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." (John 15:7)
Jesus, please help us ask for only those things that are consistent with your word.

"By this my father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be my disciples." (John 15:8)
Father, please help us be fruitful disciples that bring you glory.

"As the Father loved me, I also have loved you; abide in my love." (John 15:9)
Father, help us by your Holy Spirit to abide in the love of Jesus.

"If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my father's commandments and abide in his love." (John 15:10)
Father, please help us love and obey you with all our heart and soul and mind and strength, and our neighbors as ourselves. Please help the Episcopal Church repent of fostering abortion, divorce, fornication and adultery.

"These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full." (John 15:11)
Jesus, please continue to speak these things to us by your Holy Spirit. Thank you.

***** A word received: Pray for the increase of my harvest.

A word received about the resurrection: I AM. That is what it all comes down to: I AM alive.

***** Keep praying for the Lord's protection, peace and strength, provision and clear guidance for Bishop Love and all those who take counsel with him. Pray for the Diocese and staff, the Christ the King Spiritual Life Center and staff, and Matt Baker, the Sisters, the healing ministry and Fr. Nigel, the youth ministry and Christian Ed. ministry.
Cry out to the Lord for His church and for a mighty move of God in His church, this nation and your community.
Keep praying for your parish. Pray for His protection, provision and clear guidance. Pray for clergy, staff, vestry and wardens and all who minister. Pray for new people to be grafted in and find a closer walk with Jesus and their ministry.

***** Christ Church Coxsackie will be holding our regular Healing Service this week, the second Thursday of the month at 7 PM. The Lord is encouraging us to announce this far and wide. By this we understand that He will be present with strong purpose. We are also given to understand that His heart is to heal broken relationships as well as broken bodies at this service.
We would be grateful for your intercessory support for us about this ministry.
God bless you if you pass the word to others who may need encouragement and healing.
At 3Cs we never take up a collection at these services. We believe the Lord has instructed His church: 'Freely you have received; freely give.' No one should be embarrassed to come 'empty-handed.' From our perspective, that's when the Lord can work with what you do have: a broken heart, a life-issue that is in need of repair or restoration; a repentant heart.
For those coming a distance, there are coffee, tea and snacks available in the Fellowship Hall before the service from 6 PM until 7.
May the Lord have all the glory in His Church, forever! Blessings to you, Susan+
