Preserve me, O God, for in you I put my trust. (Psalm 16:1)
Father, I have put my trust in you, please carry me through this time of trial.
O my soul, you have said to the LORD, "You are my Lord, my goodness is nothing apart from you." (Psalm 16:2)
Jesus, I cannot claim any goodness apart from you -- you know that my righteousness is as filthy rags. Please keep me close to you.
As for the saints who are on the earth, "They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight." (Psalm 16:3)
Holy Spirit, thank you for all those holy witnesses you have raised up to guide me along the way.
Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; their drink offerings of blood i will not offer, nor take up their names on my lips. (Psalm 16:4)
Holy Spirit, please keep me, preserve me from offering worship to any other god. Do not let me waver because of politeness or fear; keep me steady in Jesus.
O LORD, you are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; you maintain my lot. (Psalm 16:5)
LORD, I look to you day by day to maintain me.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance. (Psalm 16:6)
Thank you for all the blessings you have bestowed on me.
I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons. (Psalm 16:7)
Father, please give me an undivided heart toward you so that I may receive all that you have prepared for me. Please help me find rest and refreshment in the night seasons.
I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand I shall not be moved. (Psalm 16:8)
Jesus, please help me keep my eyes fixed on you where true joy is to be found. Keep my feet from slipping off the path.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will rest in hope. (Psalm 16:9)
Jesus, you fill me with the joy of knowing you; help me share that joy with others.
For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will you allow Your Holy One to see corruption. (Psalm 16:10)
Jesus, because of your resurrection I have the hope of eternal life with you. Thank you for all that you went through to give me that hope.
You will show me the path of life; in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11)
Jesus, you are the way, the truth, and the life -- in you I have put my hope and my confidence; I trust that you will lead me by your Holy Spirit to the Father. Thank you.
