4/21/2007, #25, 2nd Quarter 2007
Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days he ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, he was hungry. And the devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread." But Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'" (Luke 4:1-4)
Jesus, please restore to the Episcopal Church the desire to live by your word.
Then the devil, taking him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to him, "All this authority I will give you, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if you will worship before me, all will be yours." And Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and him only you shall serve.'" (Luke 4:5-8)
LORD, the Episcopal Church is mired in the kingdoms of this world; please bring us back to worshiping you alone.
Then he brought him to Jerusalem, set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here. For it is written: 'He shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you,' and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.'" And Jesus answered and said to him, "It has been said, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.'" (Luke 4:9-12)
Father, the Episcopal Church has repeatedly tempted you by falling away from your word. Have mercy on us and guide us by your Holy Spirit into a right relationship with you. Thank you.
Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time. (Luke 4:13)
May the Name of Jesus, the Son of God, who is mightier than all the hosts of Satan, and more glorious than all the angels of heaven, abide with us in our going out and our coming in; by day and by night; at morning and at evening; at all times and in all places.
May the Name of Jesus, the Son of God, protect and deliver us from the wrath of evil persons; from the assaults of evil spirits; from foes invisible; from the snares of the Evil One; and from all low passions that beguile the soul and body.
May the Name of Jesus protect and deliver us.
And the blessing of God Almighty, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit be with us this day and always. Amen. (Blessing adapted from the Anglican Christian community in Ceylon, Pakistan, and India)
Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of him went out throughall the surrounding region. (Luke 4:14)
Jesus, please help the Episcopal Church return to the power of the Spirit.
***** We would like to ask for prayers to cover and lift up a revival meeting we are organizing in our little village of Philmont, with three churches, St Mark's Episcopal, Philmont Reformed Church and Philmont United Methodist Church. The evangelist Dr. Wayne Gwilliam will be ministering here May 10th thru 13th. Philmont is in the center of Columbia county which has been under an oppressive spirit for a long time and we really need prayers to herald the work of the Lord here.
We are praying for a BREAKTHROUGH of God's Holy Spirit in this town and the surrounding area.We are praying to see the youth set free of satan's grip on their hearts and minds. We are praying for the salvation of many souls, and for God's work to be continued in His churches through fellowship and spiritual leadership. We also need prayer for protection from the strategies and plans of evil coming against this gathering and all those envolved. Many thanks in anticipation. Michael and Christine Hales.
***** Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
Bishop Steve Jecko has returned to the hospital. These have been particularly difficult days. Although I cannot go into any detail (not being medically trained, of course), I can tell you that he is in pain and still recovering from near renal failure last week. Joan has asked for prayers for the doctors and medical staff treating the Bishop. I ask you to offer your own prayers, and enlist the Daughters of the King and other intercessors on his behalf.
Although I am sure that many, if not all, of you would love to visit him, what he needs now is rest and recuperation. Your prayers will be sufficient.
"Mercifully accept our prayers, and grant to your servant and bishop Steve, the help of your power."
Faithfully,
The Rt. Rev. James M. Stanton
Bishop of Dallas
The Episcopal Diocese of Dallas

Yes it does look like a miracle may well be in the making. The power of prayer is at work, we see it everyday- and the Lord's power is at work in Molly- Thanks be to the Lord, may His mercy shine upon Molly and may the cancer be healed and be gone from her body, the Lord hears our prayers and answers them as best for us. Burn out the Cancer cells from Molly's body, with your healing power that nothing that comes from man can do, but through you alone are we healed. Thanks be to God, all praise and glory is His. Amen. Amen.
