To you I will cry, O LORD my Rock: do not be silent to me, lest, if you are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. (Psalm 28:1)
LORD, we have sinned and grieved your Holy Spirit, but please continue to speak to us and call us to repentance.
Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to you, when I lift up my hands toward your holy sanctuary. (Psalm 28:2)
LORD, we cry out to you, please hear our cry for your bride, the Church.
Do not take me away with the wicked and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace to their neighbors, but evil is in their hearts. (Psalm 28:3)
Father, the leaders of the Episcopal Church look with contempt on your faithful people; have mercy on us.
Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors; give them according to the work of their hands; render to them what they deserve. (Psalm 28:4)
As you had mercy on us, Jesus, by drawing us to you while we were yet sinners, draw the leaders and teachers of the Episcopal Church to you as well so that they may repent and be saved.
Because they do not regard the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them and not build them up. (Psalm 28:5)
Holy Spirit, help the leaders and teachers of the Episcopal Church as you did King Nebuchadnezzar, so that at last it shall be said of them that their reason returned to them, and for the glory of your kingdom, honor returned to them. Bring them to the place where they can say with King Nebuchadnezzar, "Now I praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and his ways justice. And those who walk in pride he is able to put down." (From Daniel 4:36-37)
Blessed be the LORD, because he has heard the voice of my supplications! (Psalm 28:6)
Father, thank you for hearing us.
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise him. (Psalm 28:7)
Jesus, help us to praise you as we ought, for truly you walk among us and teach us with words of authority. (From Luke 4:31-32)
The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving refuge of His anointed. (Psalm 28:8)
You are the eternal God and you are our refuge, and underneath us are your everlasting arms. (From Deuteronomy 33:27a)
Save your people, and bless your inheritance; shepherd them also, and bear them up forever. (Psalm 28:9)
LORD, as our days are, so let our strength be. (From Deuteronomy 33:25b)
***** A Word Received by intercessor Debbie Bisner at Christ Church Schenectady Sunday: I am raising up leaders. New leaders. Those who will do my will not their own. Step aside and let me do my work. Do not doubt your ability, because then you doubt me. All things come from me. I build up those who love me and I will tear down those who seek to destroy my people.
***** Keep Praying for Bishop Bill Love, and his family, the Standing Committee, Fr. Haskell, other committees, and those who take counsel with him for the LORD's clear guidance, peace, strength, courage, protection, provision. Pray for the Diocesan staff, clergy and lay leaders. Pray for Christ the King Spiritual Life Center, Matt Baker and staff and all the ministries there. Fr. Nigel, Healing center and staff and volunteers. Pray for the Sisters.
Cry out to the LORD for his Church. Pray for the Holy Spirit to open hearts, ears, eyes, minds to the LORD and his word and will. Pray for a mighty revival to turn this country around as well as the churches.
Start praying for Diocesan Convention, June 8-10.
PTL the Clergy Wives retreat went well.
