But after long abstinence from food, then Paul stood in the midst of them and said, "Men, you should have listened to me, and not have sailed from Crete and incurred this disaster and loss. And now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship. For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve, saying, 'Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.' Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me." (Acts 27:21-25)
A word received: I want my people to turn to me in the midst of their difficulties. Paul did and many were blessed by his choice. Turn to me; yield your lives to me anew.
I will love you, O LORD, my strength. (Psalm 18:1)
LORD, you are the strength I need; please help me to love you day by day.
The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. (Psalm 18:2)
Jesus, you are this to me and more.
I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies. (Psalm 18:3)
Father, I call upon you and praise you. Save me, save your people who worship you.
The pangs of death surrounded me, and the floods of ungodliness made me afraid. (Psalm 18:4)
Jesus, thank you for overcoming death and the grave. I am surrounded by ungodliness, please help me keep my attention on you.
The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me. (Psalm 18:5)
Holy Spirit, please help me remember as of first importance that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he was seen by many. (From 1 Corinthians 15:3-8)
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried out to my God; he heard my voice from his temple, and my cry came before him, even to his ears. (Psalm 18:6)
"I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, and he answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and you heard my voice. For you cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the floods surrounded me; all your billows and your waves passed over me. Then I said, 'I have been cast out of your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.' The waters surrounded me, even to my soul; the deep closed around me; weeds were wrapped around my head. I went down to the moorings of the mountains; the earth with its bars closed behind me forever; yet you have brought up my life from the pit, O LORD, my God. When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD; and my prayer went up to you, into your holy temple. Those who regard worthless idols forsake their own mercy. But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD." (Jonah 2:2-9)
Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken, because he was angry. (Psalm 18:7)
LORD, Psalm 11:3 asks: "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" The answer is given in verse 4: "The LORD is in His holy temple." LORD, the foundations of the Episcopal Church are being shaken, help us to look to you, to keep our eyes on you, to worship you in your holy temple.
He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my support. He also brought me out into a broad place; he delivered me because he delighted in me. (Psalm 18:16-19)
Jesus, you have said to us: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your savior." (Isaiah 43:1-3) Thank you, Jesus.

Here is a testimony from Sunday Aug 26th:
-Our Jr Warden's displaced hips, shorter left leg, caving rt ankle and bent rt knee were sovereignly evened out/realigned (and we are believing her diabetes was finished healing also), as a result of the prayer of 7 parishioners, Ralph and me over an hour's time. She was walking and even power walking a bit. She is pain free. A blockage in her left ear was removed, and the release of her heart by receipt of the father's blessing continued the inner healing she has been receiving over a year and one half. How wonderful is our God!
-Additionally: A man for whom we have been praying, asked for prayer for his painful back. Both of these healings were in the context of taking the cue from the gospel and identifying/binding spirits, before working toward the healing. The man got a lot more than he asked, and was dazed, grateful, and his faith raised. He left with no back pain, free from a grudge he'd been holding onto, free of the effects of word curses and other ugliness directed against him over years,

Praise God for his Awesome Presence as Torre and I sat at the Prayer Table on Albany Street last Saturday! We were simply present to hear the people's petitions and lift them up to God. I came away deeply refreshed in the Holy Spirit. Thank you, Jesus.
