9/22/2008, #80, 3rd Quarter 2008

And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: "Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king's palace any more than all the other Jews. For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:13-14)
      Holy Spirit, move the hearts of all those leaders and teachers of the Episcopal Church who are tempted to remain silent when your faithful people are being persecuted. Help them to recognize that they have been called for such a time as this and speak out against the oppression of your people.

"You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am ... I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master." (John 13:13, 16).
      Jesus, help all your people walk the way of the cross and follow where you lead.
