Updates on Jackie Jones and Faye VanDermark

Date: Wed, 03 Sep 2008
From: Deacon Alan Hart
Subject: Mother Jackie Jones
Visited Mother Jackie Jones of Johnstown today at Albany Med. (she has had various health problems most of this summer, including pneumonia, pancreatitis and most recently a heart attack this past Saturday.) She is in room D-372 at AMC. When I got there Rev. John Kelly and his wife, Tish, of Trinity in Troy were there and also Mrs. Jones, mother of Deacon Kevin Jones-- Jackie's mother-in-law. We all gave thanks for the healing which has taken place so far and prayed for continued healing for Mother Jackie. We said Psalm 121, and we sang one of her favorite songs, "Be Not Afraid," for her at her bedside. She is awake and aware of who comes to see her. An AMC chaplain I spoke to before going into the room says there has been " ... a steady stream of Episcopalian clergy" to visit her this week. Please keep her in your prayers. --- deacon alan

Subject: Faye - for Prayer Line
Dear Torre and Jean,
I have heard from Faye and she would like you to know the following and to please put out a thank you on the prayer line:
Faye's cancer is stable. The doctors have recommended that they keep monitoring the cancer for six months but she will not have chemo during that time. This will allow her body to recover from the effects of chemo. This is not a cure or remission, but the growth has stopped.
Praise God! Please know how thankful she is for all the prayers and keep praying.
L, Anne
