4/23/2010, #31, 2nd Quarter 2010
Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he departed to Galilee. And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles: the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned." (Matthew 4:12-16)
Father, we pray for the light of the gospel to shine forth in all our hearts and lives.
Holy Spirit, please help us minister the good news of Jesus' victory over sin and death to all who sit in the shadow of death.
From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matthew 4:17)
Jesus, move us to true and lasting repentance. Thank you.
Friday: 105:23-45; Exodus 24:1-18; Col 2:8-23; Matthew 4:12-17
Saturday: 42, 43; Exodus 25:1-22; Colossians 3:1-17; Matthew 4:18-25

+Cadezia: Prayed for strengths and good health. Asked for wisdom to raise her children +John and +Sonnet a Godly way. She is recently divorced.
+Charles: Charles spent 20 minutes or so at the table. He is having a situation with his mother Cathy who has Bipolar disorder. Recently his mother called CPS [Child Protective Services] on Charles. Charles said CPS said there was no claim and he believes his mother is angry with him because he doesn’t want his kids going to her house, because she smokes in the house. Our first prayer was for Charles that he might have the wisdom to continue to raise his kids in an upright manner. Prayer for protection for him and his wife Nades and their children Mykhale, Shanequa, Nyre, Atrivian, Adjiano. Prayed that the Lord may intervene in the situation and bring clarity to the situation. I gave him crosses to bring to his wife and children. Our final prayer was that God would soften his heart and his mother’s heart. That he would bring them both to repentance and that the Spirit may prompt to Charles to reconcile with his mother. He recognized his anger and that he said things he didn’t mean. Asked for the Lord’s forgiveness. I gave him a cross to bring to his mother that he can give her once they have reconciled.
+Rosetta, +Mary, +Josephine: Rosetta brought her daughter Josephine and friend Mary across the street. They said we saw you and couldn’t pass up this opportunity. Prayed for their families for continued health, guidance, and knowledge of the Lord.
Blessings, Dcn. Neal

We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, in our prayers for you. We thank God because we have heard about your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God's people. You have these because of the hope which is kept safe for you in heaven. Some time ago you heard about this hope in the Good News which is the message of truth. This Good News is present with you now. It is producing results and spreading all over the world as it did among you from the first day you heard it. At that time you came to know what God's kindness truly means. (Colossians 1:3-6)
For this reason we have not stopped praying for you since the day we heard about you. We ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through every kind of spiritual wisdom and insight. We ask this so that you will live the kind of lives that prove you belong to the Lord. Then you will want to please him in every way as you grow in producing every kind of good work by this knowledge about God. We ask him to strengthen you by his glorious might with all the power you need to patiently endure everything with joy. You will also thank the Father, who has made you able to share the light which is what God's people inherit. (Colossians 1:9-12)
Father God, we thank You for your servant Paul who has written such a beautiful prayer. And we thank You for the Mudges for whom we never stop praying. We thank You for their faith in Christ Jesus and their love for all of God's people and the hope that has been given to them and to all of us who believe in You. We thank You for the Gospel and that this Good News is with Father Shaw and Mother Julie and Lydia right now. We thank You that they are spreading this Good News, the message about your tender kindness and mercy and grace, all over the world, but particularly in Lima, Peru, and in the months to come in Pennsylvania and New York and Connecticut.
Lord, we ask that you continue to fill the Mudges with the knowledge of your will through every kind of spiritual wisdom and insight. Let them continue to be fruitful doing work that is oh so pleasing to You. Strengthen these good people by your glorious might with power and with joy. Let your light shine through them bringing light and warmth and joy to all to whom they minister.
Amen.
