6/28/2010, #105, 2nd Quarter 2010

They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped the molded image. (Psalm 106:19)
Holy Spirit, please help us recognize and repent of all our idolatries.

Thus they changed their glory into the image of an ox that eats grass. (Psalm 106:20)
Jesus, please help the leaders and teachers and people of the Episcopal Church recognize how far we have fallen from grace by worshiping the standards of our culture.

They forgot God their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt, (Psalm 106:21)
Father, please bring to our minds all that you have done to bring us out of bondage to sin and death.

Wondrous works in the land of Ham, awesome things by the Red Sea. (Psalm 106:22)
Holy Spirit, please help us remember your mighty works among us and once again turn to Jesus.

Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen one stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he destroy them. (Psalm 106:23)
Father, please raise up intercessors throughout the Diocese of Albany and the Diocese of Down and Dromore who will stand in the breach before you. Thank you.

A word received: Don't be afraid. Keep looking to me. I AM there with you.
Father, you have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.

Monday: 89:19-52; Numbers 16:1-19; Romans 3:21-31; Matthew 19:13-22
Tuesday: 124, 125, 126, [127]; Numbers 22:21-38; Romans 7:1-12; Matthew 21:23-32

***** Subject: Mudge Public Prayer Mail 28 June 2010
Dear Partners in Prayer,
Peace be with you.
This is our weekly public prayer mail.
Happy 4th of July weekend, next weekend, and especially to my brother on his birthday!
Thanksgivings:
      1) For the amount of work accomplished in the past week. Seminary classwork development is coming along on the classes we are planning to teach.
      2) For the sermon I preached at the Cathedral on Sunday. It received a very good reception. Food for thought. May God use it to his glory.
      3) For short-term mission trip plans coming along (with the people from the Diocese of Albany, and this week, now plans for the Diocese of Worcester trip in the second week in August). Julie, especially, put in a lot of work on the Diocese of Albany trip this week.
      4) For the steps being taken for the next phases of Lydia´s education. She is planning to attend two courses at a nearby Christian school that would meet her needs and schedule, as part of preparation for classroom settings when she goes to college.
      5) For the opportunities before us to transform lives by what we do.
      6) For our friends and family and other supporters. We appreciate you all.
Prayers:
      1) For the parishes in which we work, that they would grow in the power of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God.
      2) For fruitfulness and discernment, for the people, relationships, ministries, finances, resources, and priorities associated with the Diocese of Peru, Saints Augustine seminary, and the Missionaries in Peru (including us).
      3) For the Albany/Peru short term mission trip plans for July 19 to 30.
      4) Continued prayers for our ministry at the Cathedral in Lima to July 15, for course preparations (effectively planning four courses: New Testament 1 and 2, and Church History 1 and 2), for Commission on Ministry plans, and for Lydia's educational plans.
      5) For matters that need repairing or routine maintenance at our apartment, and a way forward on getting all that taken care of.
      6) We could always use more books for our classes (we have a list of books that we would like to assign for reading, but we do not have sufficient copies). We are thinking about writing our own books, and so your prayers would be appreciated as to the way forward for that.
      7) The seminary is in the midst of plans to serve multiple sites around Peru, and we are evaluating next steps. Our question: what is the best way forward, considering the resources and internet infrastructure here? And how to do we do that?
8 ) For the Diocese of Worcester (England) trip coming down in August, and the seminary´s part in that (meaning Julie and my part).
      9) For the CEMO Commission on Ministry plans. Julie needs to pull together a string of interviews, but the divergent availability of the commissioners is a bit of a challenge at the moment.
Thank you for praying for us. Your praying really makes a difference, and I pray for you every day.
God bless you.
In Christ, Shaw, and on behalf of Julie and Lydia
Missionaries of the Diocese of Albany, serving in Lima, Peru.

***** Prayer Table Report from St. Mary's, Lake Luzerne, Saturday, June 26th from 11:20am - 12 noon - Deacon Dawn Skramstad.

I set up the table outside our parish hall just prior to the beginning of our weekly community luncheon. The turnout was light due to it being graduation weekend and there were a number of get togethers in the area. I asked each one as they entered if they would like prayer and many replied, No, but we thank God for this luncheon and for the outreach St.. Mary's is making in the community.

Emily - This lady comes each week and loves it when we have the prayer table. We prayed for relief from the pain of arthritis, mobility in her hips, and for the arthritis to be healed; prayed for her sister to completely recover from surgery and that her kidneys would start functioning again.

Davida - She is a 9 year old who loves to pray. Today we prayed for her parents, David & Tina. David cut his finger pretty badly and we prayed for complete healing and relief from the pain. Tina had three teeth pulled and was in a lot of pain - we prayed that her pain would be relieved and her gums would heal completely. We also prayed that Davida would continue to be the light of Christ for her family. When she got up to leave, she hugged me and said, "God bless you too, Deacon Dawn!"

Kathy - She is a regular at our prayer table. Today we prayed for her friend Sherry who has a fractured right shoulder and is in a lot of pain. We prayed for relief from the pain, for restful sleep as it has been difficult for her to get comfortable at night, for the healing of her shoulder, and wisdom for the doctor who is reluctant to do surgery on her.

Angie - She is another regular at our prayer table. Her husband is in the hospital with COPD and emphysema. There is alot of chaos in the home and estrangement from her daughter. We prayed for peace in the home, healing of the relationship with her daughter, for God's protection, and for healing for her husband.

Blessings! Deacon Dawn

Albany Intercessor
