11/15/2010, #46, 4th Quarter 2010
I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected. (Habakkuk 2:1)
Jesus, please help me to be faithful in standing my watch. Please help me keep alert and listen for the words you are speaking to me.
Father, please help me as a son to accept and receive your corrections into my heart.
Holy Spirit, guide my speech when I answer to our Father's corrections.
Then the LORD answered me and said: "Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it." (Habakkuk 2:2)
Father, please help me and all your shepherds in this diocese to make your words clear to your people.
"For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." (Habakkuk 2:3)
Holy Spirit, help us wait for the appointed time. Show our part to play each day as we await the appointed time. When the day comes, write the vision on our hearts and minds.
"Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith." (Habakkuk 2:4)
Jesus, please help us show forth our faith by the works we do each day. Write on our hearts the truth that faith without works is dead. (See James 2:14-26)
Holy Spirit, set this diocese afire with works of faith. Please guide us and direct us in living out our faith.
A word received: Keep your attention on me.

Dear Family, Friends, and Intercessors,
Peace and Grace to you in Jesus Name!
We are asking for your prayers for the team: Linda, Claudia, Revds. Misael and Pastor as well as Bishop Mike. We are currently in Ica. Last night in route here, the transmission in the van stopped working about 30 miles from Ica.. By the grace of God we all arrived safely at ...the apartments.
At present we have returned to the apartment from the morning ministry in San Pedro and are hiding from the desert heat. Meantime we are preparing for this evenings ministry in San Juan Bautista. We leave at five, when the desert begins to cool down, to do home visitiations and then Eucharist at the Church.
Tomorrow, Monday, we will have the van towed to the dealership to get prepared. The vehicle was bought new in April 2010 and so we expect the work to be done free.
Please pray that the van can be fixed tomorrow in short order and we can begin the search for an apartment for Linda and I to live in.

Dear Partners in Prayer,
Peace be with you.
This is our weekly public prayer mail.
Thanksgivings:
1) Praise God for what he does through the three of us, to transform lives.
2) For the great healing mission in Lima this past week. It continues this next week. It has touched many lives of leaders in the churches and missions here.
Prayers:
1) For the relationships and spiritual protection of missionaries and other diocesan team members in Peru, and our ministries, finances, resources, and priorities.
2) For the classes we teach this next week (week 6 of 8, then exam week).
3) That we would be able to keep on top of all the daily things that we need to do. Particularly, prayer for our time over the next two weeks as we try to fit our regular work week and healing ministry related matters.
4) For the construction on the apartment building next door. For safety for the workers, good building practices, and that the construction noise, fumes, and dust would not be disruptive to our lives.
(It is now official: most of the former view from our kitchen window has become a wall, though not as much as we thought. Still, it is a substantial wall. There is some light in the kitchen, but not as much as before, so please keep this adjustment in your prayers for the near future. Part of our living room view has become obstructed, as well)
Thank you for praying for us. Your praying is very important, really makes a difference for us, and I pray for you every day.
God bless you.
In Christ,
Shaw, and on behalf of Julie and Lydia
