7/23/2011, #23, 3rd Quarter 2011
My heart is severely pained within me, and the terrors of death have fallen upon me. (Psalm 55:4)
Lord, you know the things that trouble my soul -- bring me to your freedom and peace.
Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me, and horror has overwhelmed me. (Psalm 55:5)
Father, I am overwhelmed by all that lies before me -- give me your enduring strength to get through it all.
So I said, "Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest." (Psalm 55:6)
Holy Spirit, help me find your rest.
"Indeed, I would wander far off, and remain in the wilderness." (Psalm 55:7)
Jesus, thank you for being with me in the wilderness times.
"I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest." (Psalm 55:8 )
Father, the windy storm and tempest have come upon your people and your church, hasten our escape. Thank you.
Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues, for I have seen violence and strife in the city. (Psalm 55:9)
Father, just as you did at Babel, I urge you to confuse the tongues of those who would lead your people astray.
Day and night they go around it on its walls; iniquity and trouble are also in the midst of it. (Psalm 55:10)
Iniquity and trouble are upon us, Jesus, and your little ones are scorned. Have mercy on us.
Destruction is in its midst; oppression and deceit do not depart from its streets. (Psalm 55:11)
Oppression and deceit are spread abroad in the land; have mercy on us. Cleanse the streets of our cities and the councils of our government.
A word received: Pray for my people to trust my word to them. Pray they will read and receive my word.

Subject: Application for Funding of Short Term Missions Trips
There needs to be the question asked on "Sustainability" of the effort that they are asking funding for. (ie: relating to a sustaining program, aiding in the support of a program, to carry or withstand). There is no sense to build a building and in a 6months it stands empty. Another subject is do we want to get involved in building ANY building unless there is a plan that can be presented for the sustainability of that project.
Below is a short part of CMS application form that they use for funding. We may want to incorporate some of these ideas. Looks fairly strict but we cant just give funds out to pay for airline tickets.
All proposals must satisfy the criteria within the stated guidelines before they will be accepted. All applications will be considered in the context of Diocese of Albany’s other commitments and it should not be assumed that every application would meet with immediate approval.
Sustainability is a critical issue to ensure that no dependence is created. The Diocese of Albany cannot guarantee to fund 100% or indeed find a donor to fully fund a project typically donors fund up to 75% of the costs of a project, the balance will need to be jointly raised by the Partner.
Application Checklist
Please ensure that the application is completed in full and signed and that the relevant supporting documentation is included with the application.
