1/13/2012, #13, 1st Quarter 2012

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; (Hebrews 3:12)
Jesus, we cry out to you for those in the Episcopal Church who have departed from you through unbelief.

but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. (Hebrews 3:13)
Holy Spirit, guide us in exhorting one another; don't let our hearts become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, (Hebrews 3:14)
Father, help us daily hold steady to the end in your son Jesus.

while it is said: "Today, if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion." (Hebrews 3:15)
Holy Spirit, soften our hearts so that we may hear you and hearken to what you are saying to us.

For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? (Hebrews 3:16)
Father, please help the leaders and teachers and people of the Episcopal Church recognize the cost of our rebellion against you and your ways.

Now with whom was he angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? (Hebrews 3:17)
Lord, so many are being lost in the wilderness of sin.

And to whom did He swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who did not obey? (Hebrews 3:18 )
Father, give us a heart's desire to enter into your rest.

So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. (Hebrews 3:19)
Jesus, please help the leaders and teachers of the Episcopal Church count the cost of their unbelief. Let your word be preached in the power of your Holy Spirit throughout this diocese. Win hearts to yourself. Thank you.

A word received: All around you are people who need prayer. Pray for them. Pray with them.

Press on toward the goal my friend. Do not let people or situations get you down. You will not find anything looking down, only looking up. Look up at the heavens and see; gaze at the clouds so high above you. (Job 35:5)

***** On Friday, January 20 at 7 pm, St. Michael's Church (49 Killean Park, Colonie) will celebrate our monthly Prayer & Praise Worship Service. Contemporary Praise and Worship music will be offered by Karin Ryan, Lisa Longe, and Fernando Gomes. The preacher will be Michael Hales.
This is a very relaxed service. Come when you can and stay as long as the Lord leads. If you have a heart for revival and/or desire a deeper relationship with the Lord please plan to attend.
We hope to see you there, and bring a friend! If you have never been to one of these services please plan to attend if you are available. These services are always a powerful time with the Lord and we promise you will be blessed!
