1/15/2012, #15, 1st Quarter 2012 and Prayer Table Report
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6: 9-11)
Lord, there is so much good news captured in that phrase, "And such were some of you." Jesus, we live in the hope that you can cleanse us from all sin and unrighteousness and raise us up at the last day.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. (1 Corinthians 6: 12)
Holy Spirit, keep us from being enslaved by anything which will drag us down and put us under any power except yours.
Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. (1 Corinthians 6: 13)
Father, help us daily bring our bodies under your discipline and righteous law.
And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by his power. (1 Corinthians 6: 14)
Holy Spirit, just as you raised Jesus from the dead by your power; we trust that you will raise us up at the last day as well.
Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For "the two," he says, "shall become one flesh." (1 Corinthians 6: 15-16)
Jesus, set your people free from sexual immorality and bondage to sin.
But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him. (1 Corinthians 6: 17)
Lord Jesus Christ, we want to be bound together with you and be in your Holy Spirit with you.
Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. (1 Corinthians 618:)
Father, please help us flee sexual immorality in all its forms.
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? (1 Corinthians 6: 19)
Holy Spirit, cleanse your temple just as Jesus cleansed the temple in Jerusalem.
For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. (1 Corinthians 6: 20)
Jesus, thank you for paying the price for our sins.
A word received: Tell them I love them.

Do you believe in Christ? You know, sadly, every day I see well meaning Christians beating themselves up with unhealthy doses of self condemnation. You do not need to live that way. Romans 8:1 writes, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. "

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forever more. (Psalm 16:11(
Lord, we thank You for the path of life that you are making known to Father Shaw and Mother Julie Mudge. Lead them in their preparations for site visits to Uganda and Kenya. May they feel your presence and that fullness of joy. May they find pleasure in serving You according to your will.
We pray also for Lydia as she finishes one more paper. We pray Lord that you smooth out the bumps as she gets acclimated to college once again. May she have smooth sailing during the Spring semester. Thank You Lord. Amen.
***** On Friday, January 20 at 7 pm, St. Michael's Church (49 Killean Park, Colonie) will celebrate our monthly Prayer & Praise Worship Service. Contemporary Praise and Worship music will be offered by Karin Ryan, Lisa Longe, and Fernando Gomes. The preacher will be Michael Hales.
This is a very relaxed service. Come when you can and stay as long as the Lord leads. If you have a heart for revival and/or desire a deeper relationship with the Lord please plan to attend.
We hope to see you there, and bring a friend! If you have never been to one of these services please plan to attend if you are available. These services are always a powerful time with the Lord and we promise you will be blessed!
