1/19/2012, #19, 1st Quarter 2012
Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water." (John 4:10)
Jesus, please help us know you and receive your gift of living water.
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, (Hebres 6:19)
Father, anchor our souls in Jesus and the hope of the Gospel.

Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth." But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth. (Genesis 11:1-9)
Holy Spirit, we still endure the curse of Babel in the Episcopal Church: we use the same words as each other, but mean entirely different things by those words and are not able to communicate with one another.
Holy Spirit, please help us use all the gifts you have given (including tongues) so that our communication with you and with one another is transformed in the Episcopal Church. Thank you.
Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. (Psalm 37:1)
Father, help us lay aside all fretting and anxiety and place our hope in you. Thank you.

***** On Friday, January 20 at 7 pm, St. Michael's Church (49 Killean Park, Colonie) will celebrate our monthly Prayer & Praise Worship Service. Contemporary Praise and Worship music will be offered by Karin Ryan, Lisa Longe, and Fernando Gomes. The preacher will be Michael Hales. This is a very relaxed service. Come when you can and stay as long as the Lord leads. If you have a heart for revival and/or desire a deeper relationship with the Lord please plan to attend. Subject: Urgent WHI Dayton Prayer Request 2012 01 18
Caroline, the daughter of retired Gen "Bill", was in a head-on collision accident yesterday, Tue, in WA state. Details of injury are not clear but possibly she is suffering from a broken neck and ribs. Gen Bill and his adult grandson and wife (Caroline's son and daughter-in-law) are traveling across the country to be with Caroline. Gen Bill is a strong Christian combat veteran, humble servant leader, and supporter and friend of WHI. (Names altered to provide privacy.)

Subject: update Thursday a.m. on Bishop Mike Chapman and party
From Linda: I have heard from Michael this morning. They are going to do ministry today and would like prayer for that, and also, because the way is closed on the road they came on because of the weather, they will need to take an alternate route to return to Lima. So we need prayers for ministry and for travel back to Lima tomorrow. We are so greatful to everyone who is praying. (this update came from Linda this morning.)I like to share what she writes to me; I hope you enjoy hearing directly from her writings. I know many of you pray all the time, some like the frequent updates to target their prayers. Thank you all for your love and committment to the Chapmans and their call. Blessings, Ginnie
