The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, "Come, see a man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?" Then they went out of the city and came to him. (John 4:28-30)
Jesus, please help us understand the power of public testimony in bringing people to you. Please open the door in every parish for people to give witness to the way that you have worked in their lives.
And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in him because of the word of the woman who testified, "He told me all that I ever did." So when the Samaritans had come to him, they urged him to stay with them; and he stayed there two days. And many more believed because of his own word. Then they said to the woman, "Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world." (John 4:39-42)
Holy Spirit, the woman's testimony brought many to a direct, personal encounter with Jesus. Please let that kind of testimony produce such fruit in all our parishes and communities and at the Diocesan Convention.

Have you ever limited God? I sure have! I am not happy that I have done that and fully intend to amend my ways. I am tying not to limit Him in my prayers, thoughts or actions especially when praying for others. Ephesians 3:20,21 writes, Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine: Glory to him from generation to generation in the Church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen.

Now the Lord said to Abram, "Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, … and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." (Genesis 12:1-3)
Lord, speak to Father Shaw and Mother Julie Mudge as clearly as you spoke to Abram. Show them that land where you would have them minister. Help them to make that land a great land for you. Bless the Mudges mightily, Lord, so that they may be a blessing in that land.
Father God, help Shaw and Julie to organize their trip to Africa. Show them clearly that place in Uganda or Kenya to which you are sending them. Keep them safe from all harm and help them with the little incidentals like visa applications, obtaining local currencies, good communication connections and safe and timely travel. May all that they do, Lord, be done to your glory, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and in the name of your Son, Jesus.
Lord, we also ask for blessings upon Lydia. Let her be making a good start during this second half of her freshman year at college. May she always know of your presence with her. Help her to make new friends and to see more of your plan for her.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Over 125 individuals from parishes in the Northern Adirondack and St. Lawrence Deaneries will gather tomorrow, Saturday, for the first of our three 2012 Parish Leadership Conferences (PLCs). Each PLC begins at 9 AM and wraps-up by 4 PM. Registration opens at 8:30. The two remaining PLCs are
28 Jan Foothill Performing Arts & Civic Center, 24 Market St, Oneonta, Susquehanna and Western Mohawk Deaneries, RSVPs were due Jan 19 to diocese@albanydiocese.org ; include PLC site & your parish. Number of attendees goes to caterer tomorrow - Saturday. Late registrations can be accommodated through close of business Monday, 23 Jan.
4 Feb Cathedral of All Saints, Swan & Elk, Albany, NY, Hudson, Metro, S. Adirondack, & Upper Hudson Deaneries, RSVP: Jan 26 to diocese@albanydiocese.org ; include PLC site & your parish
The PLCs will focus on the Great Commission ? evangelism. It will be a practical how-to conference where you will begin to prepare and commit to paper your individual and parish transformation stories of how God has had an impact on your life, and how you can share that transformation story with family, friends, neighbors, and those you meet along the way each day.
Who should attend the PLCs? Every member of the clergy, churchwardens, vestry members, vestry clerks, treasurers/assistant treasurers, Sunday school leaders/teachers, altar guild directors/members, acolyte leaders, mission and outreach coordinators, and any other ministry leaders/coordinators along with the 3 newest members of your parish. Why the three newest members? They are the ones who are most likely to ask: Why are we doing "X", it doesn't make sense? What do you mean by "episcopalianspeak term?"
Rectors/vicars/priests-in-charge/(churchwardens where there is no clergy assigned) are asked to register their parish teams via email to Diocese@albanydiocese.org with the subject line: PLC Registration. Please include names. All this will ensure there are sufficient snacks and lunches and a smooth efficient sign-in at the conference. This is an investment in our missionary outposts and the cost of the conferences is paid by your parish assessment.
If you cannot attend the PLC for your deanery, you are most welcomed and encouraged to attend one of the other PLCs.
