1/23/2012, #23, 1st Quarter 2012

So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where he had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him and implored him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Then Jesus said to him, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe." The nobleman said to him, "Sir, come down before my child dies!" (John 4:46-49)
Holy Spirit, give us this same persistence in intercession for our children and other members of our family that this man has.

Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your son lives." So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. (John 4:50)
Jesus, when you give the word to us, as you did to this man, help us by your Holy Spirit to go forward in faith, believing what you have said to us.

And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, "Your son lives!" Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him." So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives." And he himself believed, and his whole household. This again is the second sign Jesus did when He had come out of Judea into Galilee. (John 4:51-54)
Father, help us see the fruit of faith in Jesus in our lives and in our families as this man did.

The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, to declare that the lord is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. (Psalm 92:12-15)
LORD God, help us to stay firmly planted in your courts and be fruitful in old age; help us daily declare your faithfulness.

As your days, so shall your strength be. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; (Deuteronomy 33:25b, 27a)
Father, as our days are, so let our strength be. Hold us up each day in your everlasting arms till we come at last into the fullness of your kingdom. Thank you.

Is your windshield clean? Can you really see what is ahead without smudges and obscurities? Can you see that person crossing the road? Is your "sight way" clear in the "path way" of life? Can you really see where you are going? Psalm 119:105 writes: "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. "

      1. General Bill wrote on Fri, Jan 20: "Thank you very much for your concern and prayers. I am pleased to report that my daughter, Caroline, is steadily improving from the injuries she received in the car accident on January 17. Her most serious injury was the fracture of the second vertebrae in her neck--the cure for which is a long period in a neck brace and rest. She also has fractured ribs and many bruises, particularly on her left side. She is in considerable pain but handling it like the real trooper she is. I am a proud and grateful father. Our family is deeply grateful for your prayers. We feel that your prayers are the most important reason for her improvement. God bless you, Bill" (Names altered to provide privacy.)

      2. WHI vet Eric drove home from Chicago after flight cancellation. 5-hr drive turned into 14-hr slip-n-slide. Poor choice and decision. Thank Jesus for saving lives when a tractor-trailer jack-knifed in front of Eric less 50 ft away in the early morning hours on Sat. Tractor-trailer slipped off into the median and Eric drove on and called 911. Other vehicles were at least a half mile away when this took place.

      3. On DC to Chicago flight, Eric saw Rahm Emanuel seated two rows behind him in Economy class with a security guard and assistant. Eric shook his hand and said "God bless you" and he, without missing a beat, said it right back. During the flight, Eric's attempt to share WHI with him was blocked by his security. As he was exiting the plane, he said to Eric "take care, bud." Don't we all need Jesus? Let's pray for our officials. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rahm_Emanuel

      4. Please pray for Holy Spirit's influence and empowerment for all involved in WHI Retreats (NY, OH, DC, and others) - organizers, volunteers, attendees, supporters, etc. Let the intercessors' prayers rise up to the Throne Room; faithful, fragrant, and pleasing to the Father; and the Lord pours it out in power and love. Come, Lord Jesus, come.

Dear Torre,
I have been asked to tell folks that Alton VanCleef has gone to glory . They are asking for prayer to deal with this, and prayers of thanks for all the Lord has done throughout all of the times Alton has passed through. Thanks,
