2/12/2012, #43, 1st Quarter 2012
Now a leper came to him, imploring him, kneeling down to him and saying to him, "If you are willing, you can make me clean." (Mark 1:40)
Lord Jesus, we ask you to make us clean as well -- cleanse our hearts and minds of every stain of sin.
Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out his hand and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing; be cleansed." (Mark 1:41)
Jesus, please help us reach out to the lost and the least and to the "unclean" with your healing touch.
As soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed. (Mark 1:42)
Holy Spirit, please give us eyes to see the healing that Jesus is doing and wants to do all around us.
And he strictly warned him and sent him away at once, (Mark 1:43)
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to keep silence, and a time to speak; (Ecclesiastes 3:1&7b) Holy Father, guide us in our speaking and in our silences. Help us know when it is time for each.
and said to him, "See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them." (Mark 1:44)
Holy Spirit, help us daily follow Jesus' instructions to us and walk by his light.
However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was outside in deserted places; and they came to him from every direction. (Mark 1:45)
Jesus, help us repent of not listening to you and your admonitions -- when we don't obey you we get in the way of the ministry you want to do among us.
A word received: Look around you and see my love and mercy. Pray for eyes to see.

Some people are so gifted in writing about love. The Song of Songs are amazing. You might read some of that to your beloved. Someone wrote to me about "experiencing" the love Christ has for us. Three times I have been so filled in prayer that it hurt! My cheeks physically hurt from smiling so much. It felt that if God poured out any more of His love I would have burst into flames! Listen, receive that love, experience that love, know the love God has for you. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. " John 3:16

So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Let your work be shown to your servants, and your glorious power to their children. Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands! (Psalm 90: 12 and 16-17)
Father God, we thank You for everything that You are doing for Father Shaw and Mother Julie Mudge. We thank You that they are a blessing and are being blessed as they explore opportunities in Uganda and Kenya. Give them hearts of wisdom so that they perfectly discern the site for their new work for You. Show them what that work is to be and grant them the power to do it. May your favor be upon the Mudges and we ask that you establish the work of their hands. Father God we pray for your Holy Spirit to surround all that the Mudges do. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
