7/26/2013, #19, 3rd Quarter 2013

Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. For she said, "If only I may touch his clothes, I shall be made well." Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. (Mark 5:25-29)
Father, please help each of us, help me, to have the faith to reach out and touch Jesus and be healed of our afflictions.

And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that power had gone out of him, turned around in the crowd and said, "Who touched my clothes?" But his disciples said to him, "You see the multitude thronging you, and you say, Who touched me?' " And he looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before him and told him the whole truth. (Mark 5:30-33)
Jesus, I am the one who reached out. I have nothing to plead but my hope in you.

And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction." (Mark 5:34)
Holy Spirit, please help me hear Jesus speak those words to me: that my faith in him has made me well and that I can go in peace healed of my afflictions. Thank you.

A word received: Be obedient to my word to you.

+Christian and +Jake (youth workers from Grace Chapel Jonesville) came over and prayed for us. We were really touched by that.

+Jake (group leader for the youth workers from Grace Chapel)

Dan -- He asked prayer for safety as he goes kayaking on a week's vacation this coming week. His daughter Shannon is doing better.

+a Steve (young man) -- We had prayed for his father a couple of weeks ago. Steve has given his life to Christ and was baptized while he was in jail for a felony.

+a Sandra (woman) -- "For my mother Francis who has cancer."

+++++Jerry (regular) -- God has been keeping him well. He is back at work part time. He asked prayer for his friends: Bob who had a heart attack; Neal who is doing OK; Rich who needs help with his legs; and Pakin who has back problems.

+aBible Harold -- We asked him if he had ever given his life to Christ and he said, "Yes." We asked him if he had taken it back and he said, "Yes, sort of." We said we thought it was time to give it back to him again and he agreed. He confessed his sins to Jesus, accepted him as his Lord and Savior, and rejoiced that he was now clean from sin. We underlined Ephesians 1:5 and Romans 8:15 which told him he had been adopted as a child of God. He rejoiced in this. His birth father died three years ago and he misses him. He was glad to know that he now had a father he could cry out to in times of need.
