Holy Spirit, bring us to this same level of obedience these disciples had. Help us daily follow your directions and guidance.
Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and he sat on it. And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: "Hosanna! 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD!' Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!" (Mark 11:7-10)
Jesus, help us daily join that vast throng that brings you glory and honor and praise.
And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. So when he had looked around at all things, as the hour was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve. (Mark 11:11)
Father, we pray for the parishes of this diocese that Jesus will enter them with his disciples. We pray for the cleansing fire of your Holy Spirit to come into every parish of this diocese. Thank you.
He turns rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground; (Psalm 107:33)
Lord Jesus, much of the Episcopal Church has become dry ground and wilderness -- have mercy on us.
A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of those who dwell in it. (Psalm 107:34)
Jesus, good is called evil and evil is called good -- have mercy on us.
He turns a wilderness into pools of water, and dry land into watersprings. (Psalm 107:35)
Holy Spirit, flood your church and your people with your presence -- let living water flow through our communities and parishes.
There he makes the hungry dwell, that they may establish a city for a dwelling place, (Psalm 107:36)
Father, let there be food for the body, soul, and spirit in every parish of this diocese.
And sow fields and plant vineyards, that they may yield a fruitful harvest. (Psalm 107:37)
Father, prune us so that we yield a fruitful harvest.
He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly; and he does not let their cattle decrease. (Psalm 107:38 )
Holy Trinity, One God, thank you for your provision for us: for giving us bread from heaven and living water to drink. Thank you.

As Jean and I approached the front door two young men, Josh and Steven, that we have prayed for in the past came up to ask how I was (I missed last week because of a wisdom tooth extraction). We were deeply touched by their obvious concern.
+ Ted (Older man, volunteer) -- He asked prayer for his daughter Camille who has Lymes Disease.
Steven (young man, see above) -- He came over and prayed for Jean and me.
a Josh (young man, see above) -- He came for prayer.
+a Jeimadi and +a Sabrina, goddaughters of +a Michael came for prayer.
+a Gary (staff) -- He was giving thanks for his 32nd wedding anniversary.
+a Gary (another Gary, volunteer) -- He asked prayer for his mother Arlene who is in the hospital.
+a Richard (young man) -- He is homeless but not living on the street. He is moving from "place to place to place". We prayed for a steady, settled life for him.
a Jerry (regular) -- He is flying to California September 4 for five days to visit his mother and his brother. He asked prayer for his friend Bob who has shingles. Jerry is back at work and his feet don't hurt as much as before.
