8/25/2013, #45, 3rd Quarter 2013
Lord Jesus, give us a heart for the lost. Help those who offer a "soft and easy gospel" recognize the great danger they are in and the danger they pose to others. The gate IS narrow and we must be willing to leave much behind to enter it. Jesus, I can imagine no more frightening words of yours than, "I do not know you."
Holy Spirit, bring the leaders and teachers of the churches to repentance where they have corrupted the gospel message.
Holy Father, give many in the church a heart to go out into the harvest fields -- they are all around us.
Then he said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. (Luke 10:2) Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." (Isaiah 6:8 ) Lord, I pray that you will send more laborers out into the harvest fields. Here am I, send me.
A word received: I Am the way, follow me.
A word received: You are in my hands -- rest yourself there.
