"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? (Matthew 6:25)
Lord Jesus, I repent of worrying about the future -- you hold the future in your hands.

Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? (Matthew 6:26)
Father, thank you that I am your child in your eyes and that you will care for me.

Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? (Matthew 6:27)
Jesus, deliver me from worry and anxiety. Help me to face each day trusting in your love and care for me.

So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; (Matthew 6:28 )
Jesus, you have never failed to provide for me or carry me through.

and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. (Matthew 6:29)
Holy Spirit, please help me see myself as the Father sees me -- as a beloved child.

Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? (Matthew 6:30)
Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.

Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' (Matthew 6:31)
Jesus, I repent of needless fretting -- it only leads to trouble (see Psalm 37).

For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. (Matthew 6:32)
Thank you, Father, for knowing my every need. Thank you for this day's bread.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)
Father, help me each day to seek after your righteousness. Help me to share your love with others.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:34)
Father, thank you for supplying this day's bread. I know I can trust you for tomorrow's bread.

A word received: Ask me to soften your hearts.

Subject: Mudge Scripture Prayer
Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I...May he be enthroned forever before God; appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him! (Psalm 61: 1-2 and 7)
Father God, from the ends of the earth, from Hartford and Albany, from Belize and Tanzania, Father Shaw calls out to you. Hear his cry, O God. Listen to his prayers. Lead him to that higher rock where he is serving You and receiving your steadfast love and always aware of your faithfulness in watching over him.
We thank You Lord, for your protection and your guidance in all that the Mudges do for You. We continue to pray for good direction as Father Shaw plans his trip to Belize. We pray for all the students and faculty and we know that You will be with them in all their efforts. Amen.
