Father, the wealthy in this land seize more and more for themselves and despise the poor. Have mercy on us and renew and humble us; and help us return to you.
There they are in great fear where no fear was, for God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you; you have put them to shame, because God has despised them. (Psalm 53:5)
Jesus, you look down on those who mistreat the alien, the orphan, and the widow. Have mercy on us and change the hearts of those who lead this nation.
Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When God brings back the captivity of his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad. (Psalm 53:6)
Holy Spirit, set free those who are captive to sin. Help us rejoice in all that Jesus has done for us in his death and resurrection and for the hope we share in his coming again. Thank you.
A word received: Keep returning to me; my arms are open wide.
