12/19/2013, #71, 4th Quarter 2013
Lord, your church is asleep; wake us up.
So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts. (Zechariah 4:6)
Jesus, please help us repent of depending on our own strength or wisdom, and receive your Holy Spirit more and more into our lives.
'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of "Grace, grace to it!" ' " (Zechariah 4:7)
Jesus, you are the capstone of my life -- thank you for giving me what I don't deserve, for giving me your grace.
For who has despised the day of small things? (Zechariah 4:10a)
Father, give me a heart to rejoice in everything and everyone that you treasure. Help me to embrace the lost and the least, the poor, and the lonely. Thank you.
Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his mercy, to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. (Psalm 33:18-19)
O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon you." (2 Chronicles 20:12)
A word received: Do you forget to give me thanks and praise when I answer your prayers?
