12/27/2013, #75, 4th Quarter 2013

And when he had spoken this, he said to him, "Follow me." Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on his breast at the supper, and said, "Lord, who is the one who betrays You?" Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, "But Lord, what about this man?" Jesus said to him, "If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow me." (John 21:19b-22)
Jesus, please help us stop looking over our shoulders to see what others are doing or saying; instead help us follow you at your word of bidding. Thank you.

Holy Spirit, please give us the strength and courage to follow Jesus wherever he leads.

Father, help us to be true and obedient sons who follow where Jesus leads.

"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." (Jim Elliot, Martyr. 10/28/1949 diary entry)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
Thank you, Jesus, for making me clean.

A word received: Keep on walking with me.
