12/30/2013, #78, 4th Quarter 2013

12/30/2013, #78, 4th Quarter 2013So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where he had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him and implored him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Then Jesus said to him, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe." The nobleman said to him, "Sir, come down before my child dies!" Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your son lives." So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. (John 4:46-50)
Jesus, please help me take you at your word as this man did. When you speak to me, please help me by your Holy Spirit to act on your word.

And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, "Your son lives!" (John 4:51)
Father, help us to be bearers of such good news.

Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him." So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives." And he himself believed, and his whole household. This again is the second sign Jesus did when he had come out of Judea into Galilee. (John 4:52-84)
Holy Spirit, let the word of what Jesus has done for us move through our whole family and bring them to belief in Jesus as it did with this man. Thank you.

Then the woman said to Elijah, "Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is the truth." (1 Kings 17:24)
Father, please help us hear and receive your word of truth when they are spoken by your servants.

The LORD IS my shepherd; I shall not want. He MAKES me to lie down in green pastures; he LEADS me beside the still waters. He RESTORES my soul; he LEADS me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. (Psalm 23:1-3)
LORD, thank you for all that you do for me.

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)
Thank you for letting us see your goodness.

Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the LORD! (Psalm 27:14)
Holy Spirit, give us a heart to wait on the Lord and be of good courage. Thank you.

A word received: Come to me with your burdens. Let me carry them.

***** Christ Church Schenectady Neighborhood Meal Prayer Table – December 29, 2013, Chuck and Theresa Rinaldo
+
+ Remee – Asked for God’s provision. She was not able to buy gifts for her children and has a heavy heart. We prayed that she lay her burden at the foot of the cross and that she know the love of Christ and share that most precious gift with her children.

Judy – Asked for protection from a violent person who is abusing her. Also asked for continued protection of her son, Michael, who is in prison, and that he come to know Christ.

++Adriana – Pray for her family members who are in prison.

Steven – Very distraught and talkative; could not be comforted. He needs prayer that God will break through his anxiety.

Jerry – Prayed for provision to get his medications. He is in a spiritual battle. He believes the devil has heard him more than the Lord, and we rebuked that kind of talk in the Name of Jesus, praying the Lord rule and reign in his life. We prayed for the love of Christ to touch his heart. Gave him a booklet about the Messiah which he said he did want to read.

+Danielle – Her son Jaiden (16 months) was taken from her and placed with her aunt. Her aunt refuses to return him to her, but allows her to see him. She doesn’t have the money to travel to where he is. We prayed the Lord would work in reconciling any differences between her and her aunt and that in God’s time Jaiden would be returned to her; for her to have God’s strength and peace during this time.

+Janell – Had 2 of her 6 children with her. Her other children have been placed in foster homes. She is distraught that her parents won’t have anything to do with her and her children, Heather (4) and Dillon (3). Prayed for reconciliation between her and her parents; for God to heal her pain of rejection and fill her with His love.
