12/6/2013, #59, 4th Quarter 2013

Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ: (Jude 1)
Jesus, please help us to be servants who answer your call to sanctification.

Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. (Jude 2)
Jesus, let your mercy, peace and love be multiplied among us.

Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. (Jude 3)
Holy Spirit, help each of us earnestly contend for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. Help us reject every false gospel which is being preached in our day.

For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. (Jude 4)
Lord, there are many who have crept in who are unconverted and now are leaders of the national Episcopal Church.

But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. (Jude 5)
Father, we trust you to deal with those who are corrupting your people and your church.

And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, he has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; (Jude 6)
LORD, there is a war going on in the heavenly places and here on earth. Please send Michael the archangel and all your servants to help us in the battle.

as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)
Father, our city has become a place of immorality where drugs and ever depravity are freely available. Have mercy on us and rescue us.

Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries. (Jude 8 )
Jesus, you commended the Centurion who understood what it meant to be under authority. Help the people of this community to respect your authority and your word.

Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" (Jude 9)
Holy Spirit, set us free from reviling one another. Thank you.

Bishop Mike and Linda [Chapman] are here in upstate N.Y. and will be there until 12-22. After that they are travelling to N.C. to spend Christmas with their daughter and her family. Linda asks if we would please pray for travel safety as there is usually lots of snow upstate.
I ask that you also pray for this time to refreshing and restful for them. They've been pouring out so much for the people of Peru; Let's ask and pour out in intercession for them to be filled with God's power and love for the continuation of their ministry to the ones he's has given to them. For increase in those who will come to help and decide to stay on. For more funds to become available to them, and for a steady growth of the people with them. Fill your house o Lord, and make it a house built on love. Blessings to all for a wonderful Christmas season. Peace, Ginnie
