12/7/2013, #60, 4th Quarter 2013, Older and Wiser Day (I'm 75.)
Holy Spirit, call to our remembrance the words of apostolic faith that we received in the Scriptures.
how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. (Jude 18 )
Lord, have mercy on us and set us free from the "wisdom" of those led astray by their lusts.
These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. (Jude 19)
Jesus, we pray for those persons that they will repent of the spirit of the world and will instead receive your Holy Spirit.
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, (Jude 20)
Holy Spirit, guide and fill our prayers so that we are built up in faith.
keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. (Jude 21)
Jesus, we live in the hope of your coming again and in the hope of living forever with you. Thank you for making the love of God known to us.
And on some have compassion, making a distinction; (Jude 22)
Jesus, please help us show your love and compassion towards those who are unsettled in their faith.
but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh. (Jude 23)
Holy Spirit, help us speak that word which will draw people back from destruction.
Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. (Jude 24-25)
Father, thank you for what you can do through your Son and Holy Spirit in us that we are unable to do by ourselves.
A word received: Keep turning to me.
A word received: Share my joy with others.
