1/1/2014, #1, 1st Quarter 2014

Fear not, for I am with you; (Isaiah 41:10a)
Jesus, thank you for sending your Holy Spirit into me so that you are always with me.

Be not dismayed, for I am your God. (Isaiah 41:10b)
Father, thank you for giving me the knowledge of your love so that I could continue to go forward.

I will strengthen you, (Isaiah 41:10c)
Holy Spirit, strengthen me and strengthen all your little ones, especially those who are frightened.

Yes, I will help you, (Isaiah 41:10d)
Jesus, thank you for your help day by day.

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10e)
LORD, thank you for holding me up when all I wanted to do was give up and fall down. Thank you for holding me in the palm of your hand all these years.

A word received: Don't be afraid. I AM going before you.

JANUARY 1 Christ’s Holy Catholic Church, especially where afflicted with persecution or affluence The Rev’d Mark McDarby

***** In May I started recording the names and dates of those who have given their lives to Christ at the prayer table at Christ Church Schenectady or at the Schenectady City Mission. I would appreciate your picking a name and start praying for that person to remain steady with Jesus. Last night's conversion of Lamont really brought the power of the gospel home to me again [from last nights prayer table report]:
Lamont (young man) -- When I asked him if he had ever given his life to Jesus, he said, "Well I was baptized." We indicated that wasn't necessarily the same thing. When we asked him if he would like to give his life to Jesus, he said, "Yes." He invited Jesus into his heart, asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior, and then confessed his sins to Jesus. We then led him in asking for and accepting Jesus' forgiveness of all his sins. When we showed him If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) and explained to him that he was now clean, he started laughing with joy and said, "I have never felt like this before."

Then he said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. (Luke 10:2) Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." (Isaiah 6:8 ) Lord, I pray that you will send more laborers out into the harvest fields. Here am I, send me.
