1/17/2014, #17, 1st Quarter 2014
Jesus, thank you for joining our suffering in the lonely times when all help seems futile.
O my God, I cry in the daytime, but you do not hear; and in the night season, and am not silent. (Psalm 22:2)
Holy Spirit, move my heart to cry out to my Father in heaven along with Jesus throughout the day and the night.
But you are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel. (Psalm 22:3)
Jesus, fill my heart and my mind with your praises so that you are enthroned there. Thank you.
Our fathers trusted in you; they trusted, and you delivered them. They cried to you, and were delivered; they trusted in you, and were not ashamed. (Psalm 22:4-5)
LORD God, help us share with the next generation your loving help to us and prior generations. They and we trusted in you and were not ashamed.
A posterity shall serve him. It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation, they will come and declare his righteousness to a people who will be born, that he has done this. (Psalm 22:30-31)
Jesus, please help me to do my part in recounting to the next generation what you have done. Thank you.
A word received: Come to me for comfort.
