1/27/2014, #23, 1st Quarter 2014

So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where he had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him and implored him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Then Jesus said to him, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe." The nobleman said to him, "Sir, come down before my child dies!" Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your son lives." So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. (John 4:46-50)
Holy Spirit, help us believe the word that Jesus speaks to us and act on it as this man did.

And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, "Your son lives!" Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him." So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives." And he himself believed, and his whole household. (John 4:51-53)
Jesus, we ask that you bring our whole family to faith in you as happened to this man's family.

This again is the second sign Jesus did when he had come out of Judea into Galilee. (John 4:54)
Father, we want to see "signs following" as we follow Jesus (see Mark 16:17-18 ).

After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward." (Genesis 15:1)
Help us, LORD, to know this as well. By faith in you write this promise on our hearts and minds. Thank you.

A word received: I know your sorrow and grief. I have come so that you may know my joy.

This is a bit late getting to everyone as I was out of town, but it's good news from the Chapmans!
Thanks to everyone for your prayers! We made it to Huancayo safely last night. It was a beautiful trip (rivers, water falls, mountains and green) amazingly lovely. But it was also an awful trip (long winding skinny roads, no guardrails and a long trip) But we saw hardly any rain along the way and the roads were clear the whole trip! God is so good to us! Thanks again everyone, we appreciate you all! Bishop Mike and Linda
