Lord Jesus Christ, fill us with the knowledge of your will for us. Please give us wisdom and spiritual understanding.
that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; (Colossians 1:10)
Holy Spirit, please help us to walk by faith and not by sight. Help us walk in a manner worthy of our Lord Jesus Christ so that we please him and bear good fruit in our words and deeds.
strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; (Colossians 1:11)
Father, build up our stamina by strengthening us with your might and glorious power so that with patience and longsuffering we may with joy enter the trials of life.
giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. (Colossians 1:12)
Father, we give you thanks for qualifying us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of his love, (Colossians 1:13)
Father, thank you for delivering us from the power of darkness and bringing us into the kingdom of your son Jesus.
in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:14)
Jesus, thank you for redeeming us by your blood and forgiving our sins.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
Thank you for making us clean.
So he humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD. (Deuteronomy 8:3)
Feed us with your word, LORD.
A word received: Pray for a hunger for my word.

***** PRAYER TABLE REPORT ST. ANN'S of AMSTERDAM, (Monday, January 6, 2013; 10-10:45 a.m. It was warmer today (mid-30s) but it was raining lightly and there was a strong wind which eventually forced us inside to cover under the eaves of the entrance. Once we did that, no one came. This was kind of a discouraging time at the table in terms of turnout of people, but ... God doesn't ask us to be successful. He DOES ask us to be faithful!)
c--Accepted free winter clothing we offer.
f-- accepted free food we offer; non-perishable.
WOMAN IN CAR -- She slowed for the red light on Division Street, rolled down the window and asked what we are doing out here. When she learned we are praying for people's needs and offering free food and clothing, she smiled, rolled the window back up and gave us a "thumbs up" sign.
f -- NANCY -- This very needy woman accepted her usual cans of soup, tuna fish and boxes of pasta, and thanked us profusely. Then she said, "I'd like to come to one of your bible studies. I've been reading the bible a lot lately but I don't really understand it like I know I should." (I told her about what we offer for bible studies and encouraged her to come. This is a major breakthrough with this woman, who a couple months ago distrusted us and was afraid to come to us for prayer.)
f,c -- REBECCA -- This young woman comes to the table every week. This time she had her nephew with her -- MICHAEL, who she lovingly describes as a " .. 2-year-old handful." Rebecca sought prayer for her right knee, which is badly swollen after a fall on the ice yesterday. SHe is seeing a doctor Tuesday.
c,f -- DAVID -- Sought prayer for ongoing financial problems he is having.
