2/7/2014, #33, 1st Quarter 2014

A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in his holy habitation. (Psalm 68:5)
Father, so many of the young men and women who come to the prayer table have never known their birth fathers. Please give them that Spirit of adoption (Romans 8:15) whereby they will be able to cry out to you "Dad, Father!"

God sets the solitary in families; he brings out those who are bound into prosperity; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. (Psalm 68:6)
Father, restore family life in this nation. Provide for those who choose marriage and the responsibilities that go with marriage. Thank you.

You, O God, sent a plentiful rain, whereby you confirmed your inheritance, when it was weary. (Psalm 68:9)
Jesus, flood us with your Holy Spirit and revive your people who are weary. Thank you.

Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? (Hebrews 12:9)
Father, we pray for the men of this land to be true fathers who will discipline and raise their children with Jesus' love and care.

A word received: Show forth my love to all you meet.

A word received: Come to me.
