3/26/2014, #66, 1st Quarter 2014
Father, large parts of the Episcopal Church and its leadership have rejected you and gone after the gods of this world. Have mercy on us.
So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, to walk in their own counsels. (Psalm 81:12)
Holy Spirit, please help us repent of our hardness of heart and of going our own way.
"Oh, that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways! (Psalm 81:13)
Jesus, even now at this late hour, help us listen to you and return to your ways.
I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn my hand against their adversaries. (Psalm 81:14)
Father, turn your hand against the adversaries of apostolic truth and faith, both within and without the church.
The haters of the LORD would pretend submission to him, but their fate would endure forever. (Psalm 81:15)
Have mercy on us who struggle daily with temptation and sin.
He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; and with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you." (Psalm 81:16)
LORD, feed us with bread from heaven and quench our thirst with living water. Help us to be satisfied with your provision for us. Thank you.
A word received (02/08/2006): I am the rock and their sweetness is drinking deeply of me.

Pray daily for vocations to the Sisters of St. Mary.
***** Service Opportunity: Volunteer Work Day at St. Mary's Convent
A general Grounds Cleaning Work Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 12th from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. at The Community of St. Mary Convent in Greenwich, NY. Volunteers are needed to help prepare barn and convent grounds to get ready for the upcoming Washington County Fiber Tour at the end of April. Volunteers should wear work clothes (gloves, muck boots, jacket or sunhat as weather dictates) and bring garden rakes, pitch forks, brooms, clippers and hand-tools etc., for getting the exterior and interior barn and garden areas public-worthy. Some of the work may be physically demanding. Painting jobs will also be available for volunteers who cannot manage the heavy spade work or difficult footing on our rocky slopes. A hot lunch will be provided. (The sisters concede that a workday on the day before Palm Sunday is not ideal, but continued snow and deep permafrost have forced strategic postponement. Pray for a serious thaw in the upcoming weeks!) For more information or to sign up, you can e-mail Sister Mary Elizabeth by clicking here or you may call the convent at 518-692-3028.
***** St. Ann's Church (37 Division Street, Amsterdam) invites you to join us for an evening of praise and worship on Saturday, March 29 at 6 pm. The evening will be led by Lisa Longe, Karin Ryan, and Ryan Haig. Come and join us as we worship the Lord in song.
