5/21/2014, #27, 2nd Quarter 2014

50th Wedding Anniversary, May 21, 1964

The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, to declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. (Psalm 92:12-15)

As your days, so shall your strength be. (Deuteronomy 33:25b)

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; (Deuteronomy 33:27a)

A word received: Give your fears to me.

A word received: My hand is upon you to lead you and guide you.

A word received: Keep your attention on me.

Time Is Running Out!
Don't miss out on the Diocesan Family Reunion! Come join us at Camp-of-the-Woods in Speculator for exciting plenary speakers and informative workshops (see below). There will be VBS for the kids and the Youth Rally for the teens - something for everyone! Make it a family vacation! Registration closes May 30th, so register now by clicking .

Third Annual Diaper Drive
The Albany Refugee Resettlement Ministry is holding its third annual Diaper Dive at Convention. All diapers donated will go directly to Burmese refugee families living in the cities of Albany and Rensselaer. These newly arrived refugees live far below the poverty line. Diapers are not covered under any social service programs and as all moms and dads know, diapers are not cheap. Last year's diaper drive helped to keep hundreds of babies clean and dry and healthy for months. Diaper sizes needed are N-1, 2, 3, 4, and/or 5. Please help to re-stock the St David's Episcopal Church Diaper Bank! Or, if you'd rather support this ministry financially, make your check payable to St. David's Church with Diaper Ministry written in the memo line. All money donated will go directly to purchasing diapers for families in need. For more information, contact James Brisbin by clicking .

The Convention Workshops are back! And this year, you can even decide what workshops you want to go to in advance! You might be wondering how. Well, you can check out descriptions of the workshops, and a plenary session or two, by clicking here. To see when your chosen workshop will be offered, check out the workshop schedule by clicking . But you can only go to the workshops if you go to Convention! So go pick your workshops and then register for Convention by clicking !

[Note from Torre: I will be doing a workshop "Leading People to Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit"
The workshop is designed to teach people how to listen to the Holy Spirit for that prompting that will enable then to easily lead someone to confess their sins and give their lives to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and accept his forgiveness. It will be offered Saturday Session 4, 11:15-noon and Sunday Session 6, 9:15-10:00.]

Volunteers Needed
We need your help! Convention runs smoothly because of the great volunteers we have every year. There are many opportunities for you to lend a hand - registration, VBS, stage work, and a host of other things! If you're interested in helping out, e-mail Sue Ellen Ruetsch by clicking .
