5/6/2014, #18, 2nd Quarter 2014

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, (Colossians 1:9a)
Holy Spirit, please help our hearing of your work and bring us to a life of unceasing prayer for others in the body of Christ.

and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; (Colossians 1:9b)
Jesus, fill us with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; (Colossians 1:10)
Father, we want to increase in our knowledge of you so that we bring forth good fruit in all that we do and say.

strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; (Colossians 1:11)
Holy Spirit, strengthen us with your power so that through patience and longsuffering we may enter into your joy.

giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. (Colossians 1:12)
Father, thank you for qualifying us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints. Help us enter into the treasure (a deeper passion for Jesus) as we prepare for the Diocesan Convention and go there.

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of his love, in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:13-14)
Father, thank you for setting us free from darkness and bringing us into the kingdom of your son where we have been redeemed by his blood and received the forgiveness of our sins.

A word received: You are in my care. Keep turning to me for help.

***** Mudge Making a Difference Prayer Mail for May 6
Dear partners in prayer, This is our public prayer mail for May 6. Happy Easter season!
This week's selective overview:
This week we began our first step in the direction of expanding our online program in more of a hispano-hablante direction with Fr. Juan Marentes coming on board, which would make our program accessible to more people in Belize as well as neighboring countries. For example, from time to time, we have had requests for course materials in Spanish such as from people in Belize, Mexico and Honduras.
I continue to work on missionary online projects and prepare for the upcoming trip to Belize.
Prayer requests:
      1) Pray for my upcoming mission trip to Belize (soon), and for accomplishing what God has asked me to do in Belize.
      2) Pray for the course development work, for people considering lay vocations, for students and for faculty. And pray for upcoming program discussions that may be taking place in Kasulu over the month of May.
      3) Pray for our parish visitation schedule in the US and in Belize.
      4) Prayers for discernment. Several family members need God's help, and/or his guidance, and to open doors that God wants to be opened.
In Christ, Shaw+, and on behalf of Julie+
