"But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you." Luke 6:27-28 (NKJV)
Lord Jesus, work in my heart so that I can do this.

"Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise. But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful." Luke 6:30-36 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me seek after what is eternal.

"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." Luke 6:38 (NKJV)
Father, please help me measure as you do with generosity of Spirit.

Then He said to me, 'Depart, for I will send you far from here to the Gentiles.' " And they listened to him until this word, and then they raised their voices and said, "Away with such a fellow from the earth, for he is not fit to live!" Acts 22:21-22 (NKJV)
Jesus, give me a heart to accept the ministry you ordain to the unloved among us.

And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said to the centurion who stood by, "Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and uncondemned?" Acts 22:25 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me listen to you as Paul did. There were times when he used his Roman citizenship to avoid unjust punishment, and there were times when he didn't. Help me hear as he did.

"They do not direct their deeds toward turning to their God, for the spirit of harlotry is in their midst, and they do not know the LORD. Hosea 5:4 (NKJV)
LORD, there is a spirit of harlotry abroad in this land. Have mercy on us and bring us back to you.

So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12 (NKJV)
Father, I ask for a heart of wisdom. Thank you.

Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in their hearts. Psalm 125:4 (NKJV)
Father, have mercy on all the aid workers in Syria and the Middle East.

A word received: Pray for listening ears.
