2016 10 12
Jesus, send out more disciples in our day to preach the kingdom of God with power and authority to drive out demons and heal the sick.
And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. Luke 9:10 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me "check in" with Jesus on a regular basis.
Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them. Luke 9:16-17 (NKJV)
Lord, multiply our loaves and fishes to feed the hungry.
And because we were exceedingly tempest-tossed, the next day they lightened the ship. Acts 27:18 (NKJV)
Father, we are tempest tossed; help us let go of everything that is not needed.
Now they sin more and more, and have made for themselves molded images, idols of their silver, according to their skill; all of it is the work of craftsmen. They say of them, "Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves!" Therefore they shall be like the morning cloud and like the early dew that passes away, like chaff blown off from a threshing floor and like smoke from a chimney. Hosea 13:2-3 (NKJV)
Father, help us and our leaders recognize the folly of worshiping what our hands have created.
How long, O you sons of men, will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness and seek falsehood? Psalm 4:2 (NKJV)
LORD, so many among us love worthlessness and seek falsehood; have mercy on us.
Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. Psalm 4:5 (NKJV)
Jesus, help us put our trust in you in the current election.
Mark well her bulwarks; Consider her palaces; that you may tell it to the generation following. For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guide Even to death. Psalm 48:13-14 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help me tell the next generation that you are a faithful guide even unto death.
A word received: Let me have your burdens; I can carry them when you cannot.
