2016 11 02

Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. Luke 13:10-11 (NKJV)
Lord, there are so many in your church who are bowed down in a spirit of infirmity; have mercy on us.

But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity." And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. Luke 13:12-13 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help the infirm hear Jesus' words of freedom from bondage and receive his touch.

But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, "There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day." The Lord then answered him and said, "Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound--think of it--for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?" And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him. Luke 13:14-17 (NKJV)
Jesus, help us keep the Sabbath as you did -- doing works of mercy and love as well as worship.

Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth." Revelation 16:1 (NKJV)
Lord, a time of wrath is coming upon us and I pray that none of the wheat will be lost with the chaff.

And I heard the angel of the waters saying: "You are righteous, O Lord, the One who is and who was and who is to be, because You have judged these things. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due." Revelation 16:5-6 (NKJV)
Lord, in your justice, remember mercy.

They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds. Revelation 16:11 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help us repent of our evil deeds.

Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, O undesirable nation, before the decree is issued, or the day passes like chaff, before the LORD'S fierce anger comes upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger comes upon you! Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the LORD'S anger. Zephaniah 2:1-3 (NKJV)
Jesus, help us seek you and your righteousness.

This is the rejoicing city that dwelt securely, that said in her heart, "I am it, and there is none besides me." How has she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down! Everyone who passes by her shall hiss and shake his fist. Zephaniah 2:15 (NKJV)
Father, we have rejoiced in ourselves and we are no better than the Pharissee "who prayed this with himself". Have mercy on us and turn our hearts back to you. (See Luke 18:11)

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:3 (NKJV)
Jesus, plant me beside rivers of living water so that I may bear fruit for you.

He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works. Psalm 33:15 (NKJV)
LORD, you deal with us individually and no as with a cookie cutter. Thank you.

A word received: I have blessed you with companions along the way.
      Thank you.
