2016 11 28

Now it happened on one of those days, as He taught the people in the temple and preached the gospel, that the chief priests and the scribes, together with the elders, confronted Him and spoke to Him, saying, "Tell us, by what authority are You doing these things? Or who is he who gave You this authority?" Luke 20:1-2 (NKJV)
Jesus, so many look to their own authorities rather than yours; have mercy on your church.

Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God. 1 Thessalonians 1:1-4 (NKJV)
Help us, Holy Spirit, daily give thanks for all the saints whose works of faith, labors in love and patience in hope lead others to Jesus.

and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come. 1 Thessalonians 1:10 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for delivering me from the wrath to come.

"Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow. Isaiah 1:16-17 (NKJV)
Father, help us learn to do the good that you desire.

"Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword"; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken. Isaiah 1:18-20 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us see the clear choices before us and choose to do what is good in your sight.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: Psalm 122:6a (NKJV)
"Father, I pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
May they prosper that love you.
Peace be within your city walls and prosperity within your palaces.
And for the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say,
      'Peace be with you.'
Because of the house of the LORD our God,
I will seek to do you good."

One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4 (NKJV)
LORD, help us tell the next generation all that you have done for us.

The LORD upholds all who fall, And raises up all who are bowed down. Psalm 145:14 (NKJV)
LORD, help us join you in holding up those who fall.

A word received: Rejoice in what I have given you to do.
