2016 12 09 Friday

And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me." Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you." Luke 22:19-20 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help us receive you and accept you as you are.

"For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves." Luke 22:27 (NKJV)
Jesus, help us follow your lead in serving.

But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, 2 Thessalonians 2:13 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me give thanks for all those you have chosen for salvation and belief in the truth.

Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle. 2 Thessalonians 2:15 (NKJV)
Father, having stood all; help me to stand.

Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2 Thessalonians 3:1 (NKJV)
Father, I pray that your word will run swiftly through our community.

Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. 2 Thessalonians 3:5 (NKJV)
      Lord, direct my heart.

For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary; from heaven the LORD viewed the earth, to hear the groaning of the prisoner, to release those appointed to death, Psalm 102:19-20 (NKJV)
      For Prisoners.
O GOD, who spares when we deserve punishment, and in your wrath remembers mercy; we humbly beseech you, of your goodness, to comfort and succour all prisoners [especially those who are condemned to die]. Give them a right understanding of themselves, and of your promises; that, trusting wholly in your mercy, they may not place their confidence anywhere but in you. Relieve the distressed, protect the innocent, awaken the guilty; and forasmuch as you alone bring light out of darkness, and good out of evil, grant to these your servants, that by the power of your Holy Spirit they may be set free from the chains of sin and death, and may be brought to newness of life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. [Adapted from the BCP 1928]

"Remember the prisoners as if chained with them--those who are mistreated--since you yourselves are in the body also." Hebrews 13:3

"The children of Your servants will continue, and their descendants will be established before You." Psalm 102:28 (NKJV)
LORD, establish my children before you.

Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise Him in the heights! Praise Him, all His angels; praise Him, all His hosts! Praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you stars of light! Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Psalm 148:1-4 (NKJV)
But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel. Psalm 22:3 (NKJV)
Help me make a dwelling place for you by my praise. Thank you.

A word received: Fulfill my word to you.
