Lord, help me know what is truly important and live it out by loving you and my neighbor.
But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" Luke 10:29 (NKJV)
Jesus, you are the one who justifies me; I cannot do it on my own.
Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.' So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?" And he said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise." Luke 10:30-37 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help me be a good neighbor even if it means I am an outcast as this Samaritan was.
Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25 (NKJV)
Jesus, I look to you for salvation.
The word of the LORD came to me again, saying, Ezekiel 18:1 (NKJV)
LORD, let your word come to us.
"Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine; the soul who sins shall die. But if a man is just and does what is lawful and right; if he has not eaten on the mountains, nor lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, nor defiled his neighbor's wife, nor approached a woman during her impurity; if he has not oppressed anyone, but has restored to the debtor his pledge; has robbed no one by violence, but has given his bread to the hungry And covered the naked with clothing; if he has not exacted usury nor taken any increase, but has withdrawn his hand from iniquity and executed true judgment between man and man; if he has walked in My statutes and kept My judgments faithfully -- he is just; he shall surely live!" says the Lord GOD. Ezekiel 18:4-9 (NKJV)
Father, help us live by your standards.
Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?" says the Lord GOD, "and not that he should turn from his ways and live? Ezekiel 18:23 (NKJV)
LORD, you take no pleasure in the death of sinners. Have mercy on us and help us walk in your ways.
"But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die. "Yet you say, 'The way of the Lord is not fair.' Hear now, O house of Israel, is it not My way which is fair, and your ways which are not fair? Ezekiel 18:24-25 (NKJV)
LORD, help us stop judging you. You are fair and true.
For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies," says the Lord GOD. "Therefore turn and live! Ezekiel 18:32 (NKJV)
LORD, help me turn and live.
He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the ash heap, Psalm 113:7 (NKJV)
Jesus, lift up the poor among us. Guide us in doing our part in this.
A word received: Look around you in my church and see the corruption caused by worldly wisdom.
