2018 02 07

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help me grab hold of what is truly solid and enduring: faith in Jesus Christ.

For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. Hebrews 11:2 (NKJV)
Father, let my life be a good testimony of your love.

By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks. Hebrews 11:4 (NKJV)
Jesus, help me daily offer a sacrifice of faith as Abel did.

By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. Hebrews 11:7 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, guide me as you did Noah.

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Hebrews 11:8-10 (NKJV)
LORD, by faith help me leave behind what is transitory and enter into a fruitful life.

Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude--innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore. Hebrews 11:12 (NKJV)
Jesus, once I was young; now I am old. Help me lead a fruitful life.

By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned. Hebrews 11:29 (NKJV)
Lord, thank you for all that you have carried me through.

And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us. Hebrews 11:39-40 (NKJV)
Father, thank you for the hope you have given to me that I will join the saints who have gone before me.

A Word Received: Seek my blessing and peace; don't be distracted by the turmoil of the world around you.
