2018 03 30

After this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus. And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews' Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby. John 19:38-42 (NKJV)
Jesus, we are so quick to judge people by one encounter. Nicodemus in John 3 doesn't come off very well; yet he risks his reputation to help bury you. Keep me from hasty judgments.

Through the LORD'S mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I hope in Him!" Lamentations 3:22-24 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for your compassion and for the hope you daily give me.

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD; Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. Psalm 130:1-2 (NKJV)
LORD< I cry out to you and trust that you hear me. Thank you.

If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared. Psalm 130:3-4 (NKJV)
Thank you, Father, for forgiving me.

I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning-- Yes, more than those who watch for the morning. Psalm 130:5-6 (NKJV)
Father, I wait on your promise of an outpouring of your Holy Spirit.

O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities. Psalm 130:7-8 (NKJV)
Jesus, you are my hope and my redeemer. Thank you.

A Word Received: Pray for my blessing on your day. Pray that I will be present to you throughout the day.
