2018 05 15

Pray for a move of the Holy Spirit at the Diocesan Convention June 8-10 and the General Convention of the Episcopal Church July 5-13 in Austin, Texas.

Please pray for vocations to the Sisters of St. Mary and the Daughters of the King and the healing ministry.

And when Jesus saw great multitudes about Him, He gave a command to depart to the other side. Matthew 8:18 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, set our hearts free from only seeking crowds of people. Help us follow Jesus.

Then a certain scribe came and said to Him, "Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go." And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head." Matthew 8:19-20 (NKJV)
Jesus, I pray for those who follow you that you will provide for them.

Then another of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead." Matthew 8:21-22 (NKJV)
Father, please help me understand and do your priorities.

Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!" But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. Matthew 8:23-26 (NKJV)
Jesus, you have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

So the men marveled, saying, "Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?" Matthew 8:27 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help me marvel at your works.

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, Ephesians 3:14-15 (NKJV)
Father, please help me reverence you as I contemplate the family you have given me.

that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, Ephesians 3:16 (NKJV)
     Holy Spirit, please strengthen us.

that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, Ephesians 3:17 (NKJV)
Jesus, dwell in my heart by faith.

may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height-- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:18-19 (NKJV)
Father, help me embrace the riches found in Christ.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for doing what I am not able to do.

Now the LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons." 1 Samuel 16:1 (NKJV)
LORD, set me from grieving over what you have rejected. Help me accept your provision.

But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7 (NKJV)
LORD, open my eyes of my heart to see more like the way you see.

Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah. 1 Samuel 16:13 (NKJV)
Father, let your Spirit rest upon us as we are anointed.

A Word Received: Look to me for hope that does not disappoint.

Prayer Table/Montgomery County Correctional Facility Jail Reports, May 7 2918
DCN ALAN and DCN MARYCAROL -- People keep telling us how prayer warriors out there like to read our reports of the Monday weekly Prayer Table and the Services From the Reserved Sacrament at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. So as long as you keep reading, we'll keep reporting on how our Lord is working great wonders in our neighborhood in and around Amsterdam. This past Monday (May 7) was no exception. Keep reading and see what we mean!
Prayer Table -- Volunteer helper James Bryant traveled to New York City and Connecticut on Sunday but STILL returned in time to hand out food at the prayer table. God bless this man for his gentle spirit! We set up outdoors for the free, non-perishable food and the free clean, used clothing we offer each week. And what was most beautiful was that, whereas last week only two people came forward for anointing with Holy Oil and prayer, this time five people requested prayer. MARIA (general blessing), ANGELO (thanksgiving), VIRGINIA (blood disorder problem), CONSUELA (continued better health in her ongoing battle with a disease) and ROBIN (first-timer, wants to draw closer to God) all requested prayer. About 30 people came, which is a lot of visitors for early in the month.
MCCF services -- So pleased to tell you all that 24 inmates came to the four services. We had 19 men and a record FIVE women attended our services. Volunteer Jeff Newell was a busy fellow praying for the 19 men after Deacon Alan anointed them. Deacon MaryCarol prayed for all five women attendees. The group discussions of the bible readings and Psalm 98, as always, were very lively. One male inmate pointed out how all the readings were connected by a theme of Love, and that all of God's creation was made in Love and the whole Earth reflects and exhibits that love. The lines in the Psalm beat that out, too -- "The sea makes noise ... The rivers clap their hands ..) Another man pointed out that in the gospel reading, Jesus told us to bear fruit; not just temporary fruit but fruit that will LAST! Good point. One of the women said she really loves to read the psalms and gets a lot ofguidance from them. She is attempting to read the entire bible cover-to-cover and is still in Genesis.
Please join us in praying for these inmates who requested prayer for themselves and noted loved ones: Man (for Sara and Ayliah), Eric (for his family and the Fort Johnson Fire Company), Boyd (and for Alexia, Elle, Patricia and Boyd Sr.), Pedro (and Jose, Maria), Adam (and Sari), Corey, Carlos (and Rhonda), Daniel (and 3-month-old nephew Yesnardo), Michael F., Michael D., Dylan (and family), Christopher, Anna (and her family and her 'enemies' who she forgives), Arianna, Isaiah, William, Josefa, the Lajeunesse family, Luz (and family).
Thank you for your intercessory prayers of support for these ministries. We feel it!
