2018 06 28

Pray for a move of the Holy Spirit at the General Convention of the Episcopal Church July 5-13 in Austin, Texas.

Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Him with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him. And He said to her, "What do you wish?" She said to Him, "Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom." Matthew 20:20-21 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, set me free from self-serving prayer.

But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave-- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Matthew 20:25-28 (NKJV)
Lord, help me to be a servant of yours and your people.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Romans 5:1 (NKJV)
Thank you for the peace you have given to me Jesus.

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:3-5 (NKJV)
Father, thank you for the hard times and the pruining and the fruit that has come out of these.

Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds. Then Moses brought out all the rods from before the LORD to all the children of Israel; and they looked, and each man took his rod. And the LORD said to Moses, "Bring Aaron's rod back before the Testimony, to be kept as a sign against the rebels, that you may put their complaints away from Me, lest they die." Numbers 17:8-10 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us respond to the signs you give us.

How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. Psalm 36:7 (NKJV)
Lord GOD, I put my trust in you.

They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. Psalm 36:8 (NKJV)
Thank you, Jesus, for your living water.

For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light. Psalm 36:9 (NKJV)
Jesus, you are the light for my path.

A Word Received: Look to me when times are hard; I will direct your path. Trust me and I will carry you home with me.
