2018 07 03

Pray for a move of the Holy Spirit at the General Convention of the Episcopal Church July 5-13 in Austin, Texas. Bring repentance and conversion to all who attend.

Now when He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people confronted Him as He was teaching, and said, "By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority?" Matthew 21:23 (NKJV)
Lord, so many church leaders are confronting you today about your authority. Help them repent.

But Jesus answered and said to them, "I also will ask you one thing, which if you tell Me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things: The baptism of John--where was it from? From heaven or from men?" And they reasoned among themselves, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven,' He will say to us, 'Why then did you not believe him?' Matthew 21:24-25 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us believe and respond to your call to repentance.

But if we say, 'From men,' we fear the multitude, for all count John as a prophet." So they answered Jesus and said, "We do not know." And He said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things. Matthew 21:26-27 (NKJV)
Father, so much is hidden from us because of our unbelief. Have mercy on us.

For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward relent and believe him. Matthew 21:32 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, please help us share the good news with tax collectors and harlots.

And the Angel of the LORD said to him, "Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to stand against you, because your way is perverse before Me. Numbers 22:32 (NKJV)
LORD, stop us when our way is perverse.

Then the Angel of the LORD said to Balaam, "Go with the men, but only the word that I speak to you, that you shall speak." So Balaam went with the princes of Balak. Numbers 22:35 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, help us speak only what you give us.

Blessed be the LORD, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth. Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. Psalm 124:6-8 (NKJV)
Thank you, LORD, for the many times you have rescued me.

When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them." The LORD has done great things for us, and we are glad. Psalm 126:1-3 (NKJV)
Jesus, bring your church out of captivity so that we may rejoice in you.

Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. Psalm 127:1 (NKJV)
LORD, so much church labor is built on sand. Bring us to the rock of repentance and conversion to Jesus.

A Word Received: Be ready to share the gospel at all times.
