2018 08 12

There is an important meeting of the clergy of the diocese with Bishop Bill on Thursday, September 6th. Please pray about committing yourself to prayer and fasting for this meeting from 9 am to 4 pm on Wednesdays leading up to this meeting. Thank you.

On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side." Mark 4:35 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help follow where you lead.

Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. Mark 4:36 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help us take you just as you are.

And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. Mark 4:37 (NKJV)
Lord, you church is in a great windstorm.

But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" Mark 4:38 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you that we can come to you when we are afraid.

Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39 (NKJV)
Lord, rebuke the forces of evil that are trying to sink your church. Help us hear your "Peace, be still!"

But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?" Mark 4:40 (NKJV)
Father, I give you my fears -- help me grow in faith (even though this may put me in fearful situations).

And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, "Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!" Mark 4:41 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, bring us to a fuller understanding of who Jesus is.

If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity. 2 Corinthians 11:30 (NKJV)
Lord, your strength is perfected in my weakness. Thank you.

Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD! Psalm 117:1-2 (NKJV)
LORD, I trust in you and your enduring truth.

Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. Psalm 139:7-10 (NKJV)
Jesus, thank you for being with me through everything.

If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You. Psalm 139:18 (NKJV)
Holy Spirit, wake me each day to be with you.

And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:24 (NKJV)
Father, lead me in the way everlasting. Thank you.

A Word Received: I Am the bread of life -- come to me when you are hungry in spirit.
