2018 08 15

There is an important meeting of the clergy of the diocese with Bishop Bill on Thursday, September 6th. Please pray about committing yourself to prayer and fasting for this meeting from 9 am to 4 pm on Wednesdays leading up to this meeting. Thank you.

Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water." John 4:10 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help us know your gift and receive your living water.

but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." John 4:14 (NKJV)
Rise up, O Well, and flood my soul.

The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming" (who is called Christ). "When He comes, He will tell us all things." Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am He." John 4:25-26 (NKJV)
Jesus, please help us recognize you for who you are.

Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, "It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word." Acts 6:2-4 (NKJV)
Lord, so many of our clergy are "waiting on tables". Help them return to the service of your word and prayer.

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3 (NKJV)
LORD, help me bear fruit in old age.

The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish. Psalm 1:4-6 (NKJV)
LORD, your judgments are true and righteous.

A Word Received: Turn to me for strength to endure.
